Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) provides a way to see detailed images inside your body without the use of
x-rays. Instead, MRI uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to display detailed views of internal
structures such as the brain, spine, joints, extremities, abdomen, pelvis, nerves and vessels. MRI
produces exceptionally clear images in any imaging plane. This enables your doctor or provider to make
a more accurate diagnosis.
Asheville MRI, a division of Asheville Radiology, provides outstanding MRI services to Western North
Carolina. Our expert team of radiologists is highly respected throughout the medical community for their
extraordinary skills in MRI interpretation specializing in neuroradiology, body, musculoskeletal and
vascular MRI. Certified and compassionate MRI technologists are trained to make the patient as comfortable
as possible providing high quality images for fast and accurate results.
Our attractive state-of-the-art facility offers the best in MRI imaging. Well-lighted rooms,
large windows, short bore scanners increase patient comfort and minimizes claustrophobia.
Asheville MRI offers two MRI imaging systems. We have a GE 3 Tesla HDx High Definition MR
imaging system with the latest and most advanced technology that provides optimal image quality. This
technology also provides speed to dramatically shorten the time the patient spends on the table.
Our second imaging system is a GE 1.5 Tesla 8 channel High Definition MR imaging system.
