Asheville Radiology Group began in 1944 with three radiologists practicing Diagnostic
Radiology. In 1997, Asheville Radiology Group merged with Western Carolina Radiology to
form Asheville Radiology Associates, which included Asheville MRI
and Asheville Imaging Center.
In 2002, Asheville Radiology's interventional radiologists were joined by the region's only
full-time, board-certified vascular surgeons to form a new division of ARA:
Carolina Vascular. This division
offers direct access to the most comprehensive care available for the treatment of peripheral
vascular disease.
Today Asheville Radiology consists of 37 Radiologists, 5 Vascular Surgeons, 9 Physician's
Assistants, and over 200 employees. As a multi-specialty practice, Asheville Radiology is the

including Women's Imaging, CT, Interventional Radiology, MRI, Neuroradiology, Nuclear Medicine,
